METAL GEAR SOLID V news and no preload option

The PC release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was originally set for September 15, two weeks after the September 1 release of the console versions. But a few weeks ago, Konami announced that it had moved the date up, so the PC edition would be out on September 1 as well. Good news! The less good news, delivered today by Metal Gear Community Manager Robert Allen Peeler, is that there won’t be a preload option on Steam. WINDOWS 10 COMES WITH ADDS

Windows 10—which is out now, by the way—comes, as it used to in the pre-Win8 days, with Solitaire preinstalled. The Microsoft Solitaire Collection, in fact, which bundles the classic Klondike with other familiar variants like Freecell and Spider Solitaire, tracks stats and logs achievements, and will even have leaderboards at some point. HITMAN launch content will be detailed soon

The new Hitman is an exciting prospect, albeit one with an unusual release plan. Eventually, there will be a full Hitman game. What will launch in December, however, is a streamlined version that will be updated across subsequent weeks and months with new missions, locations and special time-limited events. Rise of the Tomb Raider coming for PC

There wasn’t much doubt that Rise of the Tomb Raider would eventually make it to PC—Microsoft even admitted their Xbox One deal was a timed exclusive just days after it was announced. Still it’s nice to have confirmation that the sequel to Tomb Raider’s 2013 reboot is heading our way, and even nicer to have a date: “early 2016”.
