Rise of the Tomb Raider will offer 300 in-game microtransactions
Rise of the Tomb Raider still doesn’t have a solid release date on the PC, but what it does (or will) have is microtransactions. Yes, we’re delighted too. Creative Director Noah Hughes explained on the Xbox Wirethat players will be able to use “Expedition Cards” to gain various modifiers or advantages, and while those cards can be acquired with credits earned in the game, they’ll also be sold for real money. Minecraft Streamer Buys $4.5 Million Mansion
It turns out that Notch isn’t the only guy who can afford to splurge on some swanky digs thanks to the magic of Minecraft. 23-year-old YouTuber Jordan “CaptainSparklez” Maron recently splurged on a $4.5 million pad above the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, and while it may not be in the league of Casa Notch, Maron didn’t make Minecraft—he just plays it. Blizzard has announced that StarCraft 2 automated tournaments, first revealed as a planned update inNovember 2014, will be added to the game in the next Legacy of the Void beta update. SKYLAKE Tweaks Improve Discrete Graphics Performance
Tests on the first Intel processors running on its new Skylake architecture in early August gave some odd results regarding the performance of games using discrete graphics cards. In some benchmarks, both Haswell and Broadwell, the previous generation CPUs, performed marginally better than or tied with Skylake. When we wrote about Skylake, we mentioned that it was support for new memory and storage bandwidth, not pure CPU speed, that made it a valuable upgrade. FINAL FANTASY TYPE O HD will have 23% discount on PC release day
Though Final Fantasy Type-0 HD has been out on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox one since March 17 this year, the console price is still $49.99 at most retailers.
