Rivalry is a hotseat game where two players take turns moving their rag-doll character’s limbs and weapons using the mouse until one is victorious. While the beginning stages of each game captures the strategic essence of swordplay, as damage and limbs are taken, the endgame turns rather Pythonesque. Continue reading RIVALRY
Originally appearing on mobile devices as Join the Pack,Xixgames’ modest strategy title has been ported to PC asHerding Dog. While the path from small screen to PC has been a successful one for some games, the transition fares less well in the case of Herding Dog. Thanks to issues with control, map design and a real lack of engaging content or gameplay, Herding Dog is unfortunately…kind of a dog. Continue reading HERDING DOG
Just on time, another political simulation game coming in the America’s election year. Not about it being an election year—it is—but about all the other stuff. In reality, it’s a time of super-heated rhetoric, unrestrained nastiness, and grotesque behavior—and also time for a new version of Stardock’s election simulator The Political Machine. Continue reading THE POLITICAL MACHINE 2016 – ELECTION SIM GAME
ReVoltRace is an online racing community dedicated to the old school RC racing game Re-Volt. Here you can download the game (since it’s such an old game, it can be downloaded for free), find old and new tracks for this game, get help playing online races and join Re-Volt multiplayer races (on stock tracks and custom tracks).
Yes, Re-Volt is that old school radio control car racing themed video game released by Acclaim Entertainment in 1999. The fact there still is an active community playing this game proofs that this was and is a great game.
The racing competitions we play are mostly stock tracks (such as Toys In The Hood, Ghost Town, Toytanic, Toy World and Botanic Garden) and monthly changing custom tracks (new ones and classics such as PetroVolt, Venice, Rooftops, Helios, Re-Ville, RVTemple etc), normally using the Toyeca car (considered the best Re-Volt stock car based on handling and speed, although some prefer other cars like Adeon, Humma or Cougar).
The Warcraft film is approaching fast—June 10, if you hadn’t heard—and the word on the street is that Blizzard is considering a movie/videogame crossover of a sort I haven’t encountered before. “The street,” to be more precise about it, is Reddit, where a user has posted an image of a survey saying that Blizzard is giving thought to offering a free copy of the World of Warcraft “Ultimate Movie Edition” with every purchase of a ticket to see Warcraft in a theater. Continue reading Buying a Ticket for Warcraft Movie may get you WoW for free
On paper, Unsung Story sounds like one of my dream Kickstarters. It is, or perhaps was, a new tactical RPG “envisioned by” Yasumi Matsuno, director of Final Fantasy Tactics. His name, and a few others including talented translator/localiser Alexander O. Smith, is likely the reason backers forked out over $660,000 for the Kickstarter back in 2014. Playdek is the company developing it, however, and their Kickstarter updates have become increasingly infrequent over the last couple of years. Continue reading UNSUNG STORY -for now being put on hold
Phanteks is on the verge of releasing the P400 and the P400S, two new cases which have sleek designs a bit reminiscent of NZXT and some nice “RGB lighting,” although you can actually only choose between 10 colors for the Phanteks logo on the front of the case. Continue reading Phanteks Eclipse Cases
Skywind is a very big, very ambitious modding project that seeks to bring the whole of Morrowind, the land of The Elder Scrolls III, into the newer, prettier realm of Skywind, also known as The Elder Scrolls V—or, more precisely, the Creation Engine that drives it. It’s been in development for well over three years now, and as the new “Envision” trailer reveals, it’s come a long way. Continue reading New Skywind Trailer
