SKYLAKE Tweaks Improve Discrete Graphics Performance

Tests on the first Intel processors running on its new Skylake architecture in early August gave some odd results regarding the performance of games using discrete graphics cards. In some benchmarks, both Haswell and Broadwell, the previous generation CPUs, performed marginally better than or tied with Skylake. When we wrote about Skylake, we mentioned that it was support for new memory and storage bandwidth, not pure CPU speed, that made it a valuable upgrade. Now we’ve got a bit more insight into why Skylake struggled to surpass its predecessors. FINAL FANTASY TYPE O HD will have 23% discount on PC release day

Though Final Fantasy Type-0 HD has been out on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox one since March 17 this year, the console price is still $49.99 at most retailers. Today the PC download version became available on Steam for $29.99, which blows the console price out of the water and actually gets even cheaper if you know where to look. Six games sold over 1 million copies on Steam.While Steam Spy is an “imperfect tool” by its own creator’s admission, it’s still a decent way to get broad strokes data on what’s doing well on Steam.GTA V, ARK: Survival Evolved, H1Z1, Cities: Skylines, Rocket League and Besieged have all sold over 1 million units since March 2015, the stats show. Woolfe:The Red Hood Diaries Developer Announces Bankrupcy

Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries developer GriN Multimedia—not to be confused with Bionic Commando developer GRIN AB, even though I find it all very confusing—has announced that it has ceased operations. “It’s done, there is no way back. METAL GEAR SOLID V news and no preload option

The PC release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was originally set for September 15, two weeks after the September 1 release of the console versions. But a few weeks ago, Konami announced that it had moved the date up, so the PC edition would be out on September 1 as well. Good news! The less good news, delivered today by Metal Gear Community Manager Robert Allen Peeler, is that there won’t be a preload option on Steam.
